Rules for Constant Consonants

The consonant challenge appears weekly on Mondays, with occasional variations. Here are the standard rules:

Think of as many words as you can that contain the listed consonant(s), in order, and include no other consonants. The given consonant(s) may be repeated, but only right in a row, with no intervening vowels. Vowels, including Ys when they sound like a vowel, may appear as often or in any place in the word as you like. Proper nouns (capitalized names of places and people, for instance) are not allowed. Answers must be a single word.

For example: Words that work for a “Constant Consonants” puzzle with the letters LP include LEAP, LIPPY, and LOOP. Words that don’t work include SLEEP (extra consonant) and LOLLIPOP (both consonants are repeated with vowels in between).

Give yourself small bits of time on Monday and Tuesday to improve on your list. My answers are posted on Wednesdays. Have fun!
